BNA-JFK-AMS-ADD 24 March 2010

:: UPDATE ::

For the past week I have been in ATL shooting a show for DVD, in Orlando directing a music video for reggae/pop artist and today Wednesday, march 24th, I will start my journey to southwest ethiopia.

I will be flying solo (BNA-JFK-Amsterdam-Addis) until I meet up with my favorite fotog, Austin Mann, in Addis Ababa. From there we will board much smaller plane and fly south to meet up with Trent, a vet who, with the help of SIM has dedicated his life to spreading the gospel in ethiopia by aiding different tribes livestock (cattle is the main source of food/living). For the first week, we will be exploring via SUV deep into the bush, documenting tribes Trent has worked with for the past few years. The second week is dedicated to the deeper mission, finding the unreached tribes of the Omo region.

The goal is to

1. discover their needs (clean water, med, veterinary aid)

2. Start building relationships so that the gospel can be shared in the future

3. Document the trip via photo/video so that a press kit can be developed in hopes of drawing funds to continue this expensive mission (due to helicopter travel).

Some of you may get a kick out of what I am, or am not, taking. I have to pack extremely light… so here is the short of it. All packed into two carry ons.

- one pelican case loaded with all my camera gear (camera/lenes, mics, lights, rigging, hard drives, power converters for homes and car/chopper)

- one backpack containing laptop and clothes for 2.5 weeks. (3 pairs of socks, 3 shirts, rain shell, 3 undies, 1 shorts, 1 pants) *this list doesn’t include the pants/shirt/undies i will be wearing in transport.   :)

I will try to send some update throughout the trip. Would love your prayers!

be blessed, be a blessing!
